The symposium “Off Island/On Screen: Cuban Contemporary Migrant Cinemas” (November 9-12) welcomes six Cuban filmmakers to the city. They are coming from Canada, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and Mexico to screen their movies and share ideas about their practice. They will be joined by guest scholars focusing on film, media, and education in Cuba, the Caribbean, and Latin America. This free event will take place at the University of Alberta and Metro Cinema.
